CURRENT CPS EMPLOYEES - CPS employees are not required to submit a background check report to the Talent Office. This exemption does not include employees of CPS Charter Schools. Charter School employees, please see the directions above in the section titled "How To Obtain Your Background Results".
If you are currently employed by CPS and are not a Charter School employee, please click the 'SUBMIT' button below to complete the field experience registration process. Upon verification of your employment, you will receive an email response regarding your field experience request. Please ensure that you have provided accurate contact information above for future correspondences.
ALL NON-CPS EMPLOYEES – There are two ways to submit your criminal background check results to the CPS Talent Office. Please see the steps below:
Applicants Fingerprinted Using the CPS Process - If you will be fingerprinted by Accurate Biometrics using the CPS Fingerprint Authorization Form, your criminal background check results will be routed directly to CPS with no further action from you. Upon receipt of both your ISP and FBI background check results, the CPS Talent Office will process your request. Within two weeks you will receive an email response regarding your request. Please ensure that you have provided accurate contact information above for future correspondences. Please click here for the CPS Fingerprint Authorization Form and fingerprinting process.
Applicants Not Fingerprinted Using the CPS Process - If you were previously fingerprinted by an agency other than CPS Field Experience, the CPS Talent Office will honor the FBI and ISP reports as long as they meet the criteria outlined above (see the section titled – CPS Field Experience Background Check Report Criteria). To submit copies of your criminal background check results please use the address listed below. The CPS Talent Office must receive your criminal background check results within 90 days of submission of your online registration request.
NOTE - If both steps are not completed in their entirety within 90 days of starting the CPS Field Experience registration process, it will be determined that you no longer have an interest in completing Field Experience with Chicago Public Schools. Your request and all associated documents will be purged from our system.
