Syracuse University Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs

Summer Financial Aid Application

If you are registering for summer classes and you need to borrow educational loans to help cover the cost of tuition and/or summer living expenses, please read the information below and submit this application.
  • Summer tuition is charged based on your summer per-credit hour enrollment.

  • You must be enrolled at least half-time, which during the summer term is 4 credit hours, meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress standards and taking courses which will fulfill your degree requirements to be eligible for federal student loans. If you are not enrolled in summer credits, you are not eligible to apply for student loans.

  • After you submit this application, the College of Law Financial Aid Office will email you regarding your eligibility for Federal Direct Loans for the summer term. For eligible students, a summer Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan will be included in your financial aid. Students may also apply for a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan at studentaid.gov (instructions are included below).

  • Your summer cost of attendance will include tuition and living expenses for the period of summer enrollment. You will be able to view your summer budget and financial aid awards in MySlice.
