Our classrooms are changing, resulting in shifts in our practice and content delivery.  This class will explore the use of various tech tools to create powerful learning experiences which are supported by the ISTE standards.

Come join us as we collaborate, communicate and reflect on various tech tools while developing a vision of effectively driving digital age learning. 

This class is applicable to all student and teacher devices (Chromebooks, Macbooks and iPads). Access to a classroom is required.

The most important factor in student achievement is the teacher in the classroom; therefore, curriculum and pedagogy are only as good as the person teaching it. Teaching is undoubtedly one of the most difficult professions that causes physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion.  Teachers may question whether education is the right profession for them.  I Survived…Teacher Self-care takes teachers through the six phases every teacher goes through (anticipation, survival, disillusionment, rejuvenation, reflection, and second anticipation). Teachers will reflect, network, and apply the skills, strategies, and knowledge to move away from survival and toward becoming a flourishing educator.

Google Workspace for Education is a free suite of tools that enables users to create, edit, share, and collaborate, anytime, anywhere.  This online course will introduce non-teachers to the Google apps with a focus on helping staff members share and produce products together.

Apps to be covered include: Google Mail, Drive (Docs and Sheets), along with an introduction to add-ons.

Do you work with primary readers and want more strategies for helping them achieve? This action lab is for you. Join us to learn a multitude of strategies to support young readers and writers.

Learn how to be a better language partner to students with complex communication needs.  Many students in the district use a variety of methods to supplement or in place of verbal language. Discover how to program and implement a variety of Speech Generating Devices, as well as, how to model using the programs to promote your student’s language development.

Would you like some extra time and support in creating pages, assignments, discussions, and more?  This course will focus on creating Schoology items to best meet your needs.  Bring your resources and your computer with you, as you are going to be creating!

A look at supporting student accommodations with digital solutions.  Examples of accommodations to be discussed: text-to-speech, speech-to-text, graphic organizers, etc.

In this class we will be exploring the power of Google Drive assignments, collaborative documents and more.  You will be creating Google app assignments and collaborative assignments.  You will need to have your computer, resources, and possibly past assignments that you might want to use again.

Do you need to become more familiar with Schoology?  If so, then Schoology Basics is a class you might want to take.  We will dive into the basics of creating a page, creating an assignment, organization, and additional settings (tips and tricks).

In this class we will learn about running live sound and how to get the best from our PA systems.  We will cover things such as how to make sound adjustments, how to get the tone you are going for, why feedback is created and how to fix it, how to maintain a quality system without damaging every performance, and what it takes to build a PA system that works for you. 

For those using Boardmaker Online:  this action lab will go through basics including using templates, creating activities, sharing with students, and accessing student activities on student ipads.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer -- 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Course content also includes CCSD suicide prevention policy and recommendations for educators. 

This course meets the requirements for suicide prevention training required under the Jason Flatt Act. 

**The Jason Flatt Act requires eight-hours every four years.  Therefore, you can use this course to meet some of those required hours even if you have already completed the QPR course in the past.
