Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa ROP Educational Foundation Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa ROP (CRY-ROP) Educational Foundation Scholarships. 

Current CRY-ROP students are eligible to apply. 

Some of the scholarships are open to all CRY-ROP students while others are designated for specific pathways.  Please be thoughtful to read the description and requirements for each scholarship before applying.

Application Deadline: The deadlines for all scholarships will be at 5:00pm, April 19, 2024.  Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed/scored. 

Students may apply for multiple scholarships however a separate form and upload should be completed for each entry.

Awards: All scholarships will be awarded at the annual Colton Redlands Yucaipa Evening of Excellence event on May 15,2024

All awardees will receive an invitation by mail and email by April 29, 2024.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call 909 793 3115 ext. 500.

  • Error free,
  • Double spaced
  • 12-point font
Essay Submissions
 
  • Upload Essay at the end of this form. 
  • Ask your ROP teacher for a scholarship recommendation (They’ll complete and submit an online form to the committee on your behalf for the scholarship(s) you’re interested in)
For Adult students only
  • The award monies will be applied to outstanding CRY-ROP enrollment fees (in the student’s account) and the remainder of the balance will be given to the adult student.
Opportunitites
  • Students may apply for more than one scholarship

Name of Scholarship: Orozco-Rodriguez Family Scholarship
 
 
Eligibility: All 12th grade & adult ROP students with a C or better in class.
 

Essay Prompt: Make sure to include a paragraph on each of these items in your essay.

  • Share what pathway you have chosen to pursue and why you selected it.
  • Describe how your ROP program has impacted your life and how it will make a difference once you leave high school and purse work and/or a post-secondary education.   
  • Compare and contrast career options you were aware of before and after you enrolled in your ROP program.
  • Describe what these funds will mean to you as far as your future goals and endeavors.
         

Name of Scholarship: Hernandez-Mejia Family Memorial Scholarship
 
 
Eligibility: All 12th grade & adult ROP students with a C or better in class.
 

Essay Prompt: Make sure to include a paragraph on each of these items in your essay.

In honor of the Hernandez-Mejia Family Scholarship, you are invited to write about your future career path and describe your vision for how you plan to use your profession as a means of service to others. Please describe your intended career and explain how you envision making a positive impact on individuals, communities, or society at large through your chosen field.


Name of Scholarship: Julette Barta Memorial Scholarship
 
 
Eligibility: Only 12th grade ROP students.

  • Describe how your ROP program has impacted your life’s path. 
  • Compare and contrast career options you were aware of before and after you enrolled in your ROP program.
  • Describe what these funds will mean to you as far as your future goals and endeavors.

Name of Scholarship: Arline Elizabeth Horvatich Memorial Scholarship
 
 
Eligibility: All 12th grade ROP enrolled in a Veterinary Assistant program at BHS.
 

Essay Prompt: Make sure to include a paragraph on each of these items in your essay.

In honor of Arline Elizabeth Horvatich, a true friend to all animals, especially cats. This scholarship recognizes high school students who are not only passionate about animal welfare but also innovators ready to implement change in their schools, neighborhoods, or cities. We invite applicants to present original, actionable ideas that can be introduced within their school community, neighborhood, or city to promote animal well-being.

  • Share the details of your past efforts to promote animal welfare.
  • Create a detailed proposal of your innovative ideas, explaining how they can be realistically implemented in your community and the expected impact on animal welfare.
  • Whether your initiatives involve education campaigns, school-wide initiatives, community partnerships, or city-wide efforts, share how your proposal will cultivate a culture of compassion and care, reflecting the values Arline Elizabeth Horvatich cherished.

Name of Scholarship: Beaver Medical Group Foundation Scholarship (Nurse Assistant-Certified)
 
 
Eligibility: Open to adult and high school Nurse Assistant-Certified students from the 2023-2024 school year who are pursuing training in a health care related program following their CRY-ROP training or adult students who are paying CRY-ROP student enrollment fees.
