ILA 2024 Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award Nomination Form

The International Literacy Association (ILA) Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award recognizes an ongoing professional collaboration between two or three scholars who regularly contribute to the professional knowledge base of literacy educators. 

ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Collaborator teams of two to three people are eligible to be nominated or self-nominated.
  • Collaborators must be colleagues commonly associated as a professional team.
  • Collaborators must have worked on multiple projects and put forth several contributions of an enduring and positive impact to the evolving field of literacy education over a period of at least five years. The work must be in literacy research and practice in the form of a series of publications or a substantial field-based project(s) that focuses on new literacies, literacy collaborations, or literacy engagement.

To be eligible, candidates must be ILA members in good standing and maintain active membership through June 30, 2025. Please note that candidates will be evaluated on work that has been completed prior to the date of application; research or projects planned for future implementation will not be considered.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Several updates have been made to the submission process. Please review carefully.

Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague or members of the Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award Committee. Supporting documentation is required in the body of the form, as a PDF attachment, or by linking to relevant material (such as a CV) provided that the source is reputable and up to date.

Please note that candidates who have been nominated by a colleague are no longer required to complete a separate application.

Once submitted, nominations remain active for a total of three (3) years. Should candidates be nominated more than once, each individual nomination will still expire three (3) years after it was first submitted.

All nominations must be received by March 15, 2024. Submissions received after this date will be held for consideration the following award year. Notifications will be sent by mid-June.

Rationale for Nomination: Provide a description of the individuals’ collaborative contributions in
literacy (maximum of two single-spaced pages).
 
Evidence and Impact: Provide evidence that the contributors have worked on multiple projects
and put forth several contributions of an enduring and positive impact to the evolving field of
literacy education through work in literacy research and practice.
 
Curricula Vitae: Provide nominees' CVs.
