Breakout Graduate Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities 

Breakout Princeton Trips are week-long opportunities to learn about and take action on complex public issues. We do this through community immersion, direct service, group discussions, meetings with change makers and community leaders, and reflection activities. As a Breakout Coordinator, your main goal is to serve as an advisor, mentor, co-learner, and resource to Breakout Trip Leaders as they build a quality Breakout expereince. Common responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of 4 pre-trip activities
  • Attend the entirety of the Breakout Trip during its designated semseter 
  • Orient your Trip Leaders to the values and standards of Breakout Princeton 
  • Assist in the training of your Trip Leaders (leadership development, facilitation skills, diversity awareness, conflict/resoluton, etc.)
  • Act as a liasion between Breakout Staff Advisor and Trip-Leaders
  • Hold Trip-Leaders accountable to deadlines and communication standards
  • Attend regular meetings with Breakout Staff Advisor and Trip-Leaders
  • Advise logistics and budget planning
  • Attend all required training sessions 
  • Ensure that safety and policy standards are maintained at all times
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of 1 post-trip activity 
  • Attend thePre-Trip Send-off and final All Breakout Gathering
  • Assist in the distribution and completion of trip evaluations

This year's trip will be centering the arts and community. In your role you will work alongside other student leaders to fine tune the trip topic, scope, and planning.
