While all schools are encouraged to march with their own school flag; it is strongly suggested that all schools also carry a corflute clearly showing your school's name. These corflute have been issued by Townsville City Council in the past and are designed to ensure that your organisation can be easily identified by the parade marshalls, commentary team and/or the general public.
Please refer to the Corflute section of the application for further details.

A school representative must attend the school information session which will be held
on Monday 20 April 2020 - 9:45am arrival for a 10am start . You will recieve further information about this information session after registrations close at the end of March.

Townsville City Council, Townsville RSL, Thuringowa RSL and the Australian Defence Force, will have representatives at this meeting to assist in answering your questions. During this meeting you will be given all relevant information regarding your school's participation in this years parade.

Parade Participation

Townsville is privileged to have the support of two local RSL Sub-Branches; the Thuringowa RSL Sub-Branch and the Townsville RSL Sub-Branch. Each of these sub-branches work within their local catchment areas supporting those who have served.

To honour the veterans in your community, we ask that you please support your local RSL Sub-Branch by participating in the parade that is closest to your school and your school community.

Which parade will your school be participating in? If your school will have participants marching in both parades please ensure you select both locations below. *

Corflute ( sign board)

Townsville City Council has previously provided corflute (corrugated plastic signboards) to each school marching in the parade. These corflutes are used to clearly identify your school to parade marshals, the general public and in the case of the city parade, the parade commentators.

PLEASE NOTE: Once your school is issued with a corflute it is the responsibility of the school to store this corflute for use at all future parades. It is also the responsibility of each school to provide a bearer to carry the sign at each parade.

In 2019 Townsville City Council reprinted a sign for each school registered to participate in each parade. Please let us know if you did not recieve a new palcard and require one for this and future ANZAC Day Parades. *
