Welcome back to Great Australian Bites 2020!

Great Australian Bites aims at encouraging Queensland communities to come together in a relaxed setting to enjoy fresh regional produce cooked by local chefs, while listening to home grown entertainment and soaking up the summer atmosphere on Australia Day.  Townsville City Council is preparing to present an inclusive all ages food and music festival showcasing quality Queensland produce and local musical talent, in celebration of Australia Day, and we are calling for expressions of interest from local commercial and community organisations to participate in the event.

Great Australian Bites aims at delivering the best Queensland has to offer to the Townsville community.  Specifically, the use of local produce is a major deciding factor, as well as affordability, with no tasting plate costing more than $10.  We encourage the inclusion of smaller menu items.

Selection Criteria

The 2019 Great Australian Bites was a huge success for all involved.  We want an inspired menu using local produce - we want something specifically different to your standard menu.

Some feedback from the last event included how people wanted to try a lot of different things, but the servings at each location was too large to fit any more food in.  So, we want different size portions - be creative with this:

- bite size (maybe $3)
- small plate (maybe $6)
- standard plate (maybe $10)

These sizes are suggestions only.  Come up with whatever you want.

We will be looking very closely at those organisations that create a specific menu from local produce, and for those that offer different size portions.
Will you be: *
Do you currently hold a temporary food stall license with Townsville City Council? *
