Flora and Foliage request

Flora and Foliage Request

Townsville City Council recognises that our community at times may wish to request the use of plants and other natural materials from local parks and botanic spaces for cultural, religious, educational and/or scientific purposes.

To assist in supporting the local community the Parks and Open Space team welcomes requests from the community for foliage and other natural materials.

Townsville City Council encourages applications from the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Council acknowledges that native plant species and foliage within the local environment play an important role in religious practices and beliefs, connecting people to country in a variety of ways.

Due to seasonal variation and the natural growing cycles of plants, not all requests can be fulfilled but applications for assistance will be assessed and responded to as they are received.

Please complete the request for assistance form to submit a request to Council.
