Enroll in Snuff Skool's free one-day performance workshop and become a giant Snuff Puppet for the day!
 
Learn there art of giant puppetry and physical theatre, embracing spontaneous improvisation and group-devised work. Shed your personal identity, express yourself while hidden inside a giant puppet!
The workshop ends with graduating students performing in front of an unsuspecting public… Snuff Skool is led by a team of Snuff Puppets artists who have brought giant puppets to life for over 30 years. 
 
Our workshop techniques are suitable for all participants over 14 years and from any background or experience level: artists, students or members of the general public.

Some strength, flexibility, stamina and a sense of humour are required.

Where: Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Club, 80 The Strand, North Ward.
When: Thursday 26th September, 10am - 5pm
Schedule
10am-12pm: Morning Session
Starting with warm up games and physical exercises that encourage group bonding and breaking down physical boundaries, participants are encouraged to get to know each other and tune into the body. Getting into our large-scale puppets and learning the movement techniques follows, including group devised improvisation and other forms of puppet play.

12pm-1pm: Lunch break

2pm-4pm: Afternoon Session
Participants prepare to perform in public. Participants will work together to create improvised scenes in and out of puppets.

4pm-5pm: Performance
In a public space participants will step out of their comfort zones to embody their puppet’s characters and perform in a public space. The process is exhilarating, joyous and wonderful for participants and the public audience alike. They will return to the space and have a short debrief conversation about challenges, experiences and take-aways from the intensive.

Places are strictly limited, therefore registration is essential.
