Before continuing with your registration, please confirm that you understand the following statement:

I understand if I don't submit my Blueprint for Social Justice draft by Monday, January 8th 11:59 pm EST I will no longer be able to attend the National Summit and will forfeit my seat in the 2017 Fellowship Class.  

I understand if I do not attend National Summit and YP4 paid for my travel, I'm required to reimburse YP4 for the cost of my travel by Wenesday, January 31st. 

I am able to commit to attending YP4's 2018 National Summit for the dates and times listed below:

Arrive at National Summit:  Friday, February 16th before 11:00 am
Depart National Summit:  Sunday, February 19th after 6:00 pm

Basic Info

Overview

Young People For's 2018 National Summit will take place February 16th - 19th in Baltimore, MD.

This year's theme is Redefining Resistance. The National Summit brings together all current YP4 Fellows, YP4 Alumni, and national partner organizations to learn and develop tangible skills to operationalize the work you are doing in your communities. 

Deadline to register for the National Summit is Friday, October 27th, 2017!

Courts Matter Summit

The Courts Matter Summit will be held right after the National Summit Monday, February 19th through Tuesday, February 20th

You can opt-in to attend the Courts Matter Summit if you plan on participating in the monthly Courts Matter Webinars.

Please indicate when prompted if you would like to attend the Courts Matter Summit as doing so will affect the day you leave Baltimore, MD.

Please note:  you will be notified by Tuesday, October 31st if you will be attending the Courts Matter Summit.  Please do not book travel until you have been notified of your registration status in the Courts Matter Summit.

Food & Lodging

YP4 will cover lodging expenses breakfast, lunch, snacks throughout the training, and heavy hors d'oeuvres at the Reception on Friday.

Please be advised that dinners will not be provided, but we will have petty cash options available.

Travel

You are expected to cover the cost of your travel to and from Baltimore, MD.  

There are a limited number of full or partial travel scholarships available, which will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please indicate when prompted if you will need travel assistance.

If booking your own travel please adhere to the following times:

National Summit Arrival: Friday, February 16th before 11:00 am EST

National Summit Departure:  Monday, February 19th after 6:00 pm EST

Courts Matter Summit Departure:  Tuesday, February 20th after 6:00 pm EST

Closest airport to Summit:  Baltimore-Washington International (BWI)

All Fellows are responsible for covering the costs associated with any ground transportation upon your arrival to Baltimore, MD and paying for all checked and carry-on baggage fees.

IMPORTANT: If you are booking your own travel, you must send a copy of your itinerary to YP4Fellowship@pfaw.org by December 11, 2017.

Throughout National Summit, you will be assigned to a specific cohort based on your Approach to Social Change to dig in deeper to learning and understanding how to effectively and intersectionally utilize your Approach to Social Change.

Although each of the approaches could (and should) intersect, we ask that you choose the primary Approach to Social Change you are using for your Blueprint for Social Justice below.

Travel

YP4 requests that each Fellow books their own travel for the 2018 National Summit. If needed, you may request to receive a full or partial travel scholarship. 

Important things to note if you request a full or partial travel scholarship:

1) If you fail to attend the National Summit, you must reimburse YP4 the entire cost of your travel and any fees incurred.


2) YP4 will determine and book your flight by December 11; your exact flight time will not be negotiable as we are booking the most cost effective flights.


3) YP4 must receive a money order or cashiers check (no personal checks) for the amount you indicate that you can contribute to your travel by October 27th.
